Apple offers its customer the AppleCare Protection Plan, which guarantees expert telephone technical support, on-site repairs for desktop computers, global repair coverage, web-based support resources and extensive diagnostic tools — all for one price.

Every Mac comes with 90 days of telephone technical support as well as a one (1) year service coverage at Apple-authorised repair centres. If you purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan, that coverage is extended to three years from the date of the computer’s purchase.

Because Apple creates hardware, operating systems, and built-in applications, there is an integrated system that allows Apple to offer superior support and a range of services. It is also possible to get service and support for iLife and iWork.

The AppleCare Protection Plan covers your Mac, AirPort Extreme Card, AirPort Express or Extreme Base Station, Time Capsule, MacBook Air SuperDrive and Apple RAM that is used with your Mac. Customers owning the Mac mini, MacPro and MacBook Pro may also register one Apple display for AppleCare Protection, as long as the Mac and the display were purchased together.

The AppleCare Protection Plan guarantees that Apple-authorised technicians will complete repairs on your machine using nothing but genuine Apple parts. With this plan, the parts and labour are covered for three years. And as stated above, this plan offers global repair coverage, which is an extremely significant feature if you travel a great deal.

All in all, the AppleCare Protection Plan is a very good deal, and offers great service and peace of mind.
